Family portrait, 2002.
A sketch I did after my sister-in-law told me about an utterly baffling dream she'd had about aliens that had come to Earth in search of cereal...
JUMPER, ONA AND BEAN
Characters from Rime Street - a series of unpublished children's stories created and written by myself and my friend, Guy Miller.
Another character from Rime Street - Jumper, Ona and Bean's sweet but scatterbrained guardian, Fairy Lovemother.
Inspired by the work of Japanese manga artist Junko Mizuno, a birthday card design for my wife, Jayne.
A portrait of my father, part of a series of 8 individual portraits of members of my family.
Oils with gold leaf.
Oils with gold leaf.
Tattoo design that, amongst other things, features angel wings that read upside down as a heart...
The finished version was tattooed by the incredibly talented Gray Silva at Rampant Ink Tattoo Studio in Nottingham. (www.rampantink.co.uk)
HALLOWEEN 2011 INVITE
Every year we hold a Halloween party, 2011's costumes had a distinctly surgical theme.
When my wife, Jayne decided to start blogging about her Disney obsession and her ambitions to run around Walt Disney World in 2013, I created a whole bunch of art for her - logos, backgrounds, icons, the lot.
You can check out her site at www.JP2MK.co.uk, along with my art in context.
MINNIE MINXES POSTER & LOGOS
The ladies at the (now, no longer broadcasting) Minnie Minxes Disney Podcast commissioned me to come up with a new logo for their podcast and various pieces of artwork to help them promote Disney fan meets in the UK.
WEDDING INVITATION COVER
When my dear friends Kieran and Hayley asked me if I could lend a hand with designing their wedding invites I leapt in with both feet.
Avid gamers and fans of Scott Pilgrim, I simply had to get out my markers and do all I could to mimic Scott Pilgrim author, Bryan Lee O'Malley's style. I hope I did it justice.
Since the finished invite was a four-page comic book, this was my first experience in creating print-ready artwork. The drawing was easy, but getting the right crops, bleeds and colour-matching nearly killed myself and Kieran.
WEDDING INVITATION INSIDE
The comic book portion of Kieran and Hayley's Scott Pilgrim-inspired invites.
A donation for the ladies at the Minnie Minxes Disney Fan Podcast's fundraiser for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
This is prizewinner Jeff's portrait as his favourite Disney character Buzz Lightyear.
Buzz Lightyear is, of course, © Disney. Jeff isn't.
Becky digs Pirates, so here's the birthday gift I was commissioned to paint for her.
The challenge for me here was trying to nail the 'animated movie look' - which meant a cel-shaded character against a very painterly background (which proved to be a real learning experience, but I think I carried it off.)
'AL 'MOON' WALKER'
Al is a keyboard player and a fan of 'Sonny Eclipse' the animatronic alien lounge singer in Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe at Walt Disney World.
For his wedding anniversary, his wife commissioned me to create a Tomorrowland-inspired screen print-style poster featuring the man himself.
Luke is a massive bike fan, his girlfriend is a massive Disney fan, so they made a compromise and I got the chance to paint Luke on the fastest pair of wheels on The Grid.
Tara's husband asked me to paint her in full Ghostbusters cosplay gear for her Christmas present.
It was my suggestion to make a propaganda poster of it.
Disney trivia fans might notice the Hatbox Ghost and Anaheim Haunted Mansion in the background.
'CHRISTMAS AT DLP'
Jenni asked me to draw a picture of her, Matt and Olly the Cat to remind them of her favourite theme park at her favourite time of the year.
'CIARAN'S DOCTOR WHO COMIC'
Another Christmas present - drawn for Ciaran (a MASSIVE Tom Baker Doctor Who fan) as a way of breaking the news to him about his trip to Walt Disney World in 2014.
Despite having drawn many comics for myself when I was younger, this was the first time I've ever actually drawn one properly - it was lots of fun trying to emulate the style of the old Doctor Who comics of the late '70s and early 80s.
'DISNEY DREAM GIRLS'
At the end of 2013 my wife Jayne and her friend Michelle decided to start the Disney Dream Girls Podcast.
I got the gig to illustrate these lovely ladies in their favourite outfits and create loads of artwork for their website, show and social networks.
'THE CRUISE DUDES'
The delightful Scott and Tommy who host The Cruise Dudes Podcast asked me to give them a complete makeover for their podcast, website and social media.
What ensued was a fun tropical adventure full of Tiki fonts and wild Hawaiian shirt designs.
'BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE'
Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, I was contacted by Cindy from Texas, to design a T-shirt to raise funds for Post-911 veterans.
As a Brit, this was a great challenge, to make this as respectful, authentic and accurate as possible.
'JOIN US, FOOLISH MORTALS'
For 2014's Halloween party invite, Jayne asked me to do something reminiscent of the Haunted Mansion attraction at the Disney theme parks...
